Cylinder Garden
A custom x3 piece installation

Brief.
This was the first of three projects commissioned by Centrum Chodov shopping centre (largest in Czech Republic). The architects proposed to have some inspiring natural themed feature pieces in certain areas of the mall. We were asked to create x3 Kokedama installations for the interior of x3 oversized glass cylinders.

Hurdles.
The area where these pieces were to stand had no sunlight. The installations are viewed from all angles (360 degrees) and will be on display for 5+ years. While shop windows change with seasonal trends,these display pieces needed to remain contemporary looking and inspire returning viewers time after time.

Result.
Three unique Kokedama installations, each piece being a unique design while working to together as a single collection. We used artificial plants due to the lack of sunlight, air flow and length of time they need to be on display. We designed and handcrafted everything in our Amsterdam studio, then packaged and shipped them off to Prague where we installed them.
